I saw you today, for the first time in months.
And for once, I was glad you didn't see me
If you had seen me, you would have see the longing in my eyes.
My longing for you
To hold your hand
To feel the glorious softness of your hair under my fingers
To feel your soft lips on mine
My longing for you to be mine
And me to be yours
I saw your beautiful face today, and it made my hears ache

Dogs and cats

Excerpts from a Dog's Diary......

8:00 am - Dog food! My favourite thing!
9:30 am - A car ride! My favourite thing!
9:40 am - A walk in the park! My favourite thing!
10:30 am - Got rubbed and petted! My favourite thing!
12:00 pm - Lunch! My favourite thing!
1:00 pm - Played in the yard! My favourite thing!
3:00 pm - Wagged my tail! My favourite thing!
5:00 pm - Milk bones! My favourite thing!
7:00 pm - Got to play ball! My favourite thing!
8:00 pm - Wow! Watched TV with the people! My favourite thing!
11:00 pm - Sleeping on the bed! My favourite thing!

Excerpts from a Cat's Daily Diary. ..

Day 983 of my captivity.
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets.
Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet.
I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of.
However, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am. Bastards.

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event.
However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of 'allergies.'
I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking.
I must try this again tomorrow - but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges.
He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.

The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicating with the guards regularly.
I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe.
For now................

interesting

My wife made an interesting observation this afternoon while we were standing in line at the grocery store checkout. I didn't notice it, as I was busy handling payment for our groceries. But it bothered her enough that she thought about it on the ride home, and it finally came out as we were putting all our groceries away at home. Her observation went something like this...

"You know, common decency has gone completely out the window these days. When we were at the checkout line a pot pie fell off the conveyor and onto the floor. There were two men standing right behind me that both looked down at the pot pie, and then just ignored it. So here I am, pregnant and with a toddler in one arm, having to bend over and pick it up myself."

Years ago (watch some of the "old" movies, westerns, etc) there used to be a kind of etiquette between men and women. Yes, back when your grandparents were growing up. Used to be that men didn't wear hats indoors, they didn't cuss in front of ladies, and lots of other things. For instance, it was customary for a man to open a door for a lady, be it a car door or door on a building. Men would drop a lady off curbside if it was raining, then after he parked the car he'd run through the rain to meet up with her. Simple things like that.

In today's world, men won't even pick up a pot pie box off the floor, when an obviously pregnant woman carrying a toddler has to pick it up for herself. So why is this the case today? The role of women in our world has changed dramatically. And for the worse!

I don't say this because I want to oppress, or control women. I say this because I firmly believe God intended men and women to have equal, but completely separate roles within a family and societal structure. These roles were designed to fit together like puzzle pieces. What men don't do, women do. What women don't do, men do.

Not a whole to long ago, our society met with the women's suffrage movement. That is, women began trying to "buck the system" if you will. They began demanding 'equal rights', and fighting for women to be allowed into the work place. Even today, we see our Presidential candidates (and their wives) speaking publicly about "the glass ceiling" and how women don't get paid or promoted like men do. Am I against women being in the workplace? Not at all. Do I think God intended them to be there? No. I think God intended women to raise, nurture, care for, and feed families. Men were meant to toil. Keep in mind, a wife/mother's job is no less work!

But, imagine this. Women used to be treated as delicate, special things held up on pedestals. They weren't worshiped, but they were treated with utmost respect. They weren't accepted in the general work place, nor seen as the head of a household for sure. However, men respected women back then.

But, women weren't content for this. So "women" (I mean this in the most general way possible) decided to change how things worked. They fought for "equal rights" and charged out the front doors of their family's home and into the workplace of someone else. They left the kitchens empty, laundry dirty, kids uneducated, untamed, and unfed, and their husband's unsatisfied.

And now, women wonder why men don't treat them any different. After demanding to be treated no different than their male counterparts, demanding the ability to have the same jobs, same pay, benefits, etc. And we wonder why it is men don't pick up items off the floor for a woman. Why men don't open car doors, business doors, give up their jacket or umbrella, or drop off a woman at the curbside when it's pouring rain.

What I am suggesting, is that women got just what they asked for. They wanted to be treated as equals, and so "men" (generally speaking) ignore women just as they would another man. Stuck in the rain? To bad. Have to open a heavy door? You're strong aren't you? Drop your pot pie? Be a man, pick it up yourself.

And we wonder why young men victimize women so much these days. Women asked to be treated the same. They didn't want special treatment anymore. Women demanded that men stop looking at them as if they were "inferior" or less capable. And so men stopped seeing women as special, delicate, weaker vessels that needed protection. Men (and women) stopped teaching their sons that women were to be respected, and protected. Instead, young men (and women) are taught that women are no different than men. They can do the same things, make the same money, and have equal chances at everything. They are peers in a society driven by desire and ambition.

And therefore women are treated like men. Left to fend for themselves against all odds. Because that is the role of the man. Let's face it, women are no longer "ladies". They are competition. Women are no longer cherished by men, protected, and honored. No, instead they are seen as competitors, 'men' that must be conquered and subdued into submission beneath our individual might.

If you want men to stop treating you like men. Act like ladies. Stop fighting for men's roles, stop demanding to be treated as "equal", saying you can do all the same jobs. For if you continue, you are only a competitor in the gladiatorial combat we call society. If we want men to treat women like something special, to respect women, to honor and protect them, then women have to become something special. If women are to be seen as equal to men, they'll be treated as men.

But if women separate themselves from the world of men. If women define themselves as keepers of the home, as nurturers, child raising educators, helpmates, mothers and wives, they'll be treated as such. If you're content with being treated as a man, then keep acting like one.

But if you'd rather be treated like a lady, act as one of those. For I guarantee you, you're worth so, so much more as a lady, than you are a man.

an article i found on one of my sites, nobody knows who wrote it, but it's good

apparently tonight is the night of many updates ... can you tell how bored i am?

i dont know id it's just me, but lately (in the past year or so) i noticed that when i was younger, i listened to songs, and heard the guys sing about these girls, and now i realize i tried to be like the girls they sang about. not exactly like them, but somewhat. i wanted to be a girl that people looked at and remembered, i wanted to turn heads and break hearts. wanted to be the fearless bad girl who got what ever guy she wanted. it's kinda funny how my music influenced me. i wonder what i would have been like if i had listened to different songs, or if i didnt want to be like those girls?

and oh god, do i even have to say how much "Pour Some Sugar On Me" influenced me? (for those of you who know ... yeah. those who dont, don't ask) like, that shit isn't even funny.

lol, yeah it is. ... maybe i'm tired, cuz i'm acting a little funny, and the screen keeps jumping ... heh...

songs i listened to all the time
"Girl all the bad guys want"
Cause she is watchin' wrestling; Creamin' over tough guys; Listenin' to rap metal; Turntables in her eyes
She likes 'em with a mustache; Racetrack season pass; Drivin' in a Trans-Am; Does a mullet make a man?
There she goes again; With fishnets on, and dreadlocks in her hair

"Are you gonna be my girl?"
Big black boots, long brown hair, she's so sweet with her get back stare.

"Cold hard bitch"
Cold hard bitch; Just a kiss on the lips; And I was on my knees; I'm waiting, give me; Cold hard bitch; She was shakin' her hips; That's all that I need
you have no idea how much i miss my old neighborhood. i miss being able to go out and play sports and get muddy and dirty and having a hell of a good time. i cant do it in this house cuz, a) theres glass and sometimes sarynges in the side yard (and the back yard is just all dirt/dust/mud) and b) there isnt enough people to make any semblance of teams. ... it makes me sad

so yeah. thats about it

wow...

Original message....

Note To President Bush: Birth Control Is NOT Abortion

This is NOT a pro-choice pro-life thing, this is about protecting your rights about prevention. As women we should all know that birth control pills are also used to regulate the cycle, help with cramps and ease mood swings. With the economy the way it is and the already over populated areas do we need to add to it? If this were put into place abortions would become a more attractive alternative and not all people can afford to have it taken care of in an office, the number of back alley coat hanger abortions will increase. As women, mothers, sisters, friends, brother's, boyfriends, cousins and members of this country fight for your right to keep this from happening.

In all the fuss about thinks like the election and the olympics, the Bush Administration is trying to sneak past a major change: they want to define birth control and emergency contraception as abortion. This regulation would require federal health programs to certify that they will hire nurses and other providers who openly object to abortion or contraception in order to receive federal aid to run their programs.

Hillary Clinton wrote an excellent piece about this on the Huffington Post the other day that pretty much sums up the situation.

Here's an excerpt:
The Bush administration is up to its old tricks again, quietly putting ideology before science and women's health. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is poised to put in place new barriers to accessing common forms of contraception like birth control pills, emergency contraception and IUDs by labeling them "abortion." These proposed regulations set to be released next week will allow healthcare providers to refuse to provide contraception to women who need it. We can't let them get away with this underhanded move to undermine women's health and that's why I am sounding the alarm.

Remember all that controversy about pharmacists refusing to give rape and incest victims the morning after pill? Bush and company just endorsed that kind of behavior and encouraged more of the same.

I just signed the petition "Protect Birth Control: No to President Bush's Latest Proposal". I'm asking you to sign this petition to help us reach our goal of 15,000 signatures. I care deeply about this cause, and I hope you will support our efforts.

this is really important please sign the petition and pass it on.

the petition can be found here: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/123393979

please protect your rights!!!!!!!!!!!!!
he might as well add condoms to the list and make sex illegal!!!!!!
seriously, if you can, please sign this

It was 1989, my thoughts were short my hair was long
Caught somewhere between a boy and man
She was seventeen and she was far from in-between
It was summertime in Northern Michigan
Ahh Ahh Ahh
Ahh Ahh Ahh

Splashing through the sand bar
Talking by the campfire
It's the simple things in life, like when and where
We didn't have no internet
But man I never will forget
The way the moonlight shined upon her hair

And we were trying different things
We were smoking funny things
Making love out by the lake to our favorite song
Sipping whiskey out the bottle, not thinking 'bout tomorrow
Singing Sweet home Alabama all summer long
Singing Sweet home Alabama all summer long

Catching Walleye from the dock
Watching the waves roll off the rocks
She'll forever hold a spot inside my soul
We'd blister in the sun
We couldn't wait for night to come
To hit that sand and play some rock and roll

While we were trying different things
And we were smoking funny things
Making love out by the lake to our favorite song
Sipping whiskey out the bottle, not thinking 'bout tomorrow
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long

Now nothing seems as strange as when the leaves began to change
Or how we thought those days would never end
Sometimes I'll hear that song and I'll start to sing along
And think man I'd love to see that girl again

While we were trying different things
And we were smoking funny things
Making love out by the lake to our favorite song
Sipping whiskey out the bottle, not thinking 'bout tomorrow
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long

While we were trying different things
And we were smoking funny things
Making love out by the lake to our favorite song
Sipping whiskey out the bottle, not thinking 'bout tomorrow
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long

Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long
